The potential is unlimited, usually these jobs will start out at $8-$10 an hour, with experienced testers making as much as $80 to $120 an HOUR!!! just for playing the games while they are in development! Sound like a no brainer!
A little more about video game testing, your tasks will vary from game to game, and from development stage to development stage, at times you will have to play the game as if you just bought it and try to beat it recording unexpected events along the way, other time you will be asked to judge upon the difficulty of games, for instance puzzle games, to help the programmers adjust the puzzles to make the games challenging enough, but at the same time not too easy to get the gamer not interested to keep playing. Sometimes you will be asked to simply pull the controller of memory card out of the system to see how the game reacts and recovers once those are plugged back in.
At any rate, we hope you found this information useful and if are interested will give game testing a go.
