With three-quarters of both the Senate and the House voting for passage, Governor Beebe signed the Severance Tax bill into law this afternoon. The 86th General Assembly taken a step that 24 legislatures before it could not: to pass a fair and sensible natural gas severance tax. Governor Beebe, with help from legislators, has made another historic stride in moving Arkansas forward.
