I took this video last July when I chased the #6936 pulling the Portola Railroad Museum Special into the Feather River Canyon. First clip is at Lower Honcut Rd., between Marysville and Oroville. The Centennial is slowing down due to a red light ahead. This gave me time to drive two crossings ahead to Central House Rd., where I took the second clip. The Centennial is accelerating after clearing the siding and the red light. The Nathan M5 sounds more muted, since there's no canyon nearby to reverberate its wonderful sound.
