The American soprano Danielle de Niese plays Cleopatra and the excellent British mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly plays Giulio Cesare in this Glyndebourne 2005 staging. In this scene, Cesare and Cleopatra sing their final duet. Cleopatra has just been crowned Queen of Egypt, now part of the Roman Empire, as consort to Roman emperor-general Giulio Cesare. CLEOPATRA: "Caro!" CESARE: "Bella!" CLEOPATRA e CESARE: "Più amabile beltà mai non si troverà del tuo bel volto.
