The idea to build a replica Vickers Vimy sprung from the fertile mind of Peter McMillan. He along with Lang Kidby flew it from Brooklands to Australia in 1994. Full details of this and its other historical flights can be found at vimy.org The aircraft is now operated by the Brooklands Museum Trust, with the assistance of Dunsfold Park and a team of enthusiastic volunteers. See brooklandsmuseum.com This short clip shows the first flight since 2005 which took place on the 19th March 2008 from near the Top Gear test site at Dunsfold .
