Laughton! as a child, I LIVED for the TV broadcasts of "The Hunchback" , "Rembrandt" , "Mutiny on the Bounty" - - and was amazed at his directorial skills in the only film he helmed: "Night of the Hunter"

The running guy at 0:45, Oliver Peate did he say? Was that Burgess meredith? Played Mickey the trainer in ROCKY ? Damn fine actor. But Charles Laughton, beyond compare.!Seen him as all sorts of characters, but he was at his best in Hobsons Choice and Spartacus

I love him in a particular way too. I was so little when I decided he is one of the most talernted and expressive actor. So, when searching dear things on Youtube, he was among my first gestures. Thanks so much, Dwight.

Check Dick Cavett interview with Elsa Lanchester (Laughton's wife). She talks about Charles Laughton and his acting in films. I thought he was brilliant in The Paradine Case.

.... have you seen Private Life of Henry VIII? that has it all, huh? he was sooooooo fabulous and so memorable in his performances. his timing/delivery was overlooked - waaaay before his time. Method acting - not quite, or - hmmmmmmmm......

If you love this - you have got to love Private Life of Henry VIII. He is absolutely amazing in that. My favorite scene in that film is when he is told of his wife Kathryn's affair. He was incredible and unforgettable in that - and in this! I love him in anything....
