i love the idea of functional languages. After dealing with a lot of threading hell it would be nice to imagine that one day we can work in something like haskell, and insert allocation hints for C-like control over efficiency *without* obfuscating the program's meaning

1 - Yes, Haskell is easy. Haskell has no side effect, so you don't have to care about it. 2 - I recommend Haskell than C++.
